About Alexandra Park
Alexandra Park is the former site of the Edgeley House estate owned by the Sykes family. Stockport Corporation purchased the 10 acres of land in 1908 to create a park with bowling greens and a tennis court. It was officially opened on 15th April 1908 and renamed Alexandra Park in honour of Queen Alexandra. In 1990/91 the park was extended to include the reservoir which is popular with anglers and wildlife.
